Centrifugal Separators

Pieralisi centrifugal separators are the ideal technological solution for completing the separation process started by centrifugal extractors. Their design guarantees thorough clarification, where previous steps reach their limits.

Thanks to very high rotation speeds, these vertical separators develop a centrifugal force that can approach 10,000 g. This exceptional power removes even the finest residual solid particles. The performance achieved depends both on design parameters — disc type and geometry, internal volumes, discharge levels and systems — and on operating parameters such as flow rate, product characteristics, the nature and quantity of solids, and processing temperature.

The product to be clarified enters the top of the separator via the feed pipe. Subjected to centrifugal force, it passes through around a hundred stacked internal discs. The combined action of this force and the discs drives the solid particles towards the outer wall of the drum, from where they are discharged automatically and intermittently. The liquid phases rise to the top and are continuously discharged through free outlets or centripetal pumps.
